ILLEGAL LOGS ARE EASY TO BURN

A huge fire – the third one since last August – has recently erupted in the vicinity of the Abastumani health resort, in the Borjomi-Kharagauli National Park. Local residents are certain that the fire was the result of arson, aimed at destroying the evidence of illegal logging. Authorities insist that bad weather or criminal negligence is to blame.
